Assistant Market Manager Job Description
Position: The Assistant Manager will support operations at Today’s Harvest, assisting with all aspects of market operation including customer service, restocking of food, and volunteer management.
Hours: There is some flexibility with this position, but the standard hours will be Monday-Friday 12-6pm and Saturday 8:30am-1pm.
Reports to: Market Manager
Duties and Responsibilities:
The Assistant Manager will:
- Greet and assist customers
- Train and manage volunteers who are helping to restock the market
- Assess and manage inventory and communicate needs to other team members when inventory runs low
- Assist with market operations, including market restocking, sorting of food, etc.
This is a key role in our growing Today’s Harvest program, and the position will join a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Ability to communicate, motivate, and relate effectively to a wide variety of Individuals
- Retail or grocery experience a plus
- Bilingual Hmong/English is preferred. Other priority languages include: Spanish, Mandarin, Vietnamese, and Arabic.
- Adaptability, flexibility, and ability to see change as an opportunity rather than an obstacle
- Volunteer training experience is a plus
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Physical ability to load and unload boxes and bags on a regular basis, up to 50 pounds, and be on your feet for long periods of time
- Ability to assess needs and communicate to the team any adjustments that need to be made throughout each shift
Hours and Compensation: This position will pay $19.50/hour and will provide additional benefits including health insurance and paid time off.

Food Rescue Driver Job Description
Position: The Food Rescue Driver will coordinate the pickup of fresh produce and other grocery items from local grocers and deliver them to the Today’s Harvest Market located at 8264 4th St N in Oakdale. Driving our 16 ft box truck is a required element of this position.
Hours: This is a part-time position, mostly 7:30am-12:00pm Monday-Friday with some flexibility in schedule.
Reports to: Food Rescue Director
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Load, transport, unload and store donated food from local grocers to Today’s
Harvest or other Open Cupboard programs - Work collaboratively and effectively with grocery store staff to minimize interruption to their regular activities while picking up food. Maintain positive relationships with local grocers and communicate with Food Rescue partners about any program changes, including date or pick up time alterations
- Ensure food safety and quality guidelines are being met
- Load and unload food rescue product
- Lift boxes of product and use pallet jack to move and load product
- Log and maintain records of incoming products and related information
- Support growth and change within the Food Rescue Program as needed
- Perform miscellaneous pickups and drop-offs as needed
- Maintain vehicle in safe and proper working condition.
- Assist with other operations at Today’s Harvest or at Open Cupboard, as needed.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, and ability to pass a DOT physical evaluating vision, hearing, cardiovascular health, etc. A special DOT license (Class A or Class B) is not required.
- Experience using a pallet jack is preferred
- Physical ability to load and unload boxes and bags on a regular basis, up to 50 pounds
- Strong communication and customer service skills
Hours and Compensation: This position will pay $19.50/hour and offers a flexible schedule.
